Ylang Ylang essential oil
Overview and benefits
The ylang ylang oil has a clear, colorless to pale yellow color. It is greatly volatile and has a bold aromatic flowery scent. It is put together with other fragrances in making perfumes.
Ylang ylang carry linalool, a compound which has antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.
It is effective at reducing Candida albicans, a fungal infection.
When dried, ylang ylang flowers are used in treatment of malaria symptoms in countries throughout Asia
inhalation of ylang ylang had a sedative effect, by significantly reducing blood pressure rates as well as heart rate in healthy men.
Extract method or part of the plants and origin
The Ylang-ylang tree belongs to the family Anonaceae. It is scientifically known as Cananga odorata. It is used both in high-end perfumes as well as in basic toiletries e.g. soaps and shampoos, the traditional way of extraction being by steam/hydrodistillation.

Ylang ylang oil consists of aromatic scent which is fruity, flowery, and rich.

The Ylang ylang essential oil must be stored in a cool dry place, away from light. Always do a patch test before applying directly to the skin.
